Our canoe routes on the Dordogne river

We offer 4 canoeing routes on the Dordogne River, allowing you to discover the river Espérance,
its castles and France's most beautiful villages.

Our shuttle will take you to the start of your canoe trip (Carsac - 25km, Vitrac - 16km, Cénac - 12km, or Castelnaud - 4km),
and you'll canoe down to our base at your own pace.

Our services

Ideally located in the heart of the majestic Dordogne Valley, we will provide shuttle buses from 9:00 a.m. to the departure points of your choice, and then you will travel down the Dordogne at your own pace to our base, where your car will be waiting for you.

You will receive a free river guide translated into 5 languages. It will help you to understand the historical riches of the Rivière Esperance, appreciate the quality of this protected environment, and provide practical information (picnic areas, shops, toilets...).

Choosing the right itinerary: Depending on the composition of your family and the time available, we offer a wide range of itineraries to meet all your needs.

Choosing the right equipment: We have canoe kayaks fitted with comfort seats, ranging from 2, 3 and 4-seater canoes to single or double kayaks.

Important

  • the 4-seater canoe is designed for 2 adults and 2 children (5 - 9 years). Not for 4 adults!
  • kayaking is recommended for children aged 10 and over
  • Know how to swim 25 m and immerse.
  • Children aged 5 and over (Dordogne prefectural decree).
  • Wear a closed lifejacket.
  • Wearing closed shoes
  • Dogs are allowed

Book online

It's best to book your descent 1 or 2 days in advance. Our shuttles have capacities that can be adapted to bookings.

Dress appropriately

Shorts, T-shirt, closed-toe shoes mandatory, cap, sunglasses, water bottle, sun cream.
On sale at reception: aquashoes, caps.

Eating out

We provide containers in which to transport your picnic. Catering available on site, or to take away, as well as drinks and ice cream.

Due to a prefectoral decree, navigation is currently prohibited between Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and Beynac.
However, routes from Vitrac, Carsac or Calviac are still available to Castelnaud.
